The title is a statement, not a question. Robert Cardinal Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, knows exactly the choice and is able to lead us deeply in faith. The endorsements on the back cover could hardly be more credible or more promising: Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, Raymond Cardinal Burke, Walter Cardinal Brandmüller, Most Reverend Carlo Maria Viganò (retiring Apostolic Nuncio to the U.S.) et al.
My copy arrived this morning and I am delighted to have the opportunity to read, absorb and share. The only thing better would be to explore the thoughts and conclusions with others who are also interested. Chapter 1
I don’t know if anyone else is interested in offering comments or review on this book, but feel free to begin! I am half way through the book, and found Cardinal Sarah’s description of his early years in Guinea amazing … leaving home so young to study in the seminary, how hard it must have been on his parents, the commitment to what really matters, and the extraordinary role of the Holy Ghost Fathers in his training and encouragement. How amazingly God works to find this young boy in such a remote area, and give him a vocation that lifted him to Cardinal in the Vatican.
I was also struck how God protects His own, and their mission. Prime example was how the dictator and his aide, with the plan to kill then-Bishop Sarah already in writing, and one breaks a leg and the other dies, removing the evil they had comtemplated! Praise God!
