I have registered!
I was always under the impression that the Diocese of Rochester was a not for profit organization?? Fifty dollars times 1000 is a lot of mula!!

A few points –
1. There were only a few hundred at last year’s conference, hence the venue change. Not 1000
2. The conference includes lunch
3. This year’s speakers (Fr. Mitch Pacwa, Deacon Harold Burke Shivers, Patrick Coffin) are all from out of town and have travel and meals expenses, and I presume some sort of honorarium
4. Wherever it’s held, there will be costs of security, maintenance, cleaning, etc.
5. Would you price the event at a loss, making those who fund the diocese by their contributions pay for a portion of the costs?
6. Even non-profits have to “make money” or eventually they run out. This can’t be priced to lose money.
7. $50 for lunch, fellowship, three great Catholic speakers, Mass with the bishop and many priests for confession is a fantastic deal
