  1. Mary-Kathleen says:

And what of us reading this on a tablet? There is no cursor.

  2. Diane Harris says:

Thanks, Mary-Kathleen. A very good point. Anyone without a cursor might be a curser of the colors; thanks for raising our sensitivity to the technology limitations …. and the need to be more aware. I for one will try to curb the urge to play with all those neat little font buttons. 🙂 It won’t be easy. 🙂 🙂

  3. Ron says:

    Font buttons can be fun!;-)

  4. Sid says:

FYI: Beyond the above-mentioned issue with tablets, the suggestion to make the psycho-colors less offensive by block-selecting the text does not work well in all browsers. I tried in Google Chrome and it does help somewhat. In Internet Explorer, however, the outcome is even worse than the original. Who dreamt that was even possible?

Are you really stuck using the garish 3-bit RGB color palette for some fundamental reason? Why not just listen to the readers and merely format things more tamely? Workarounds are then not needed and you don’t have to close comments or otherwise prevent discussion. Just a thought…
