Here are some beautiful photos and videos of the recent Rosary for Priestly Vocations that was held at St. Thomas More Church. Fr. Coffas, rector of Becket Hall, led the congregation in a reverent holy hour, wherein was recited the Holy Rosary, and which concluded with Solemn Benediction. combine these vocations Rosaries with today’s Gospel and I’d say the future looks bright for us. Excellent work to all involved. Keep up the great work and you will bless this diocese beyond our wildest dreams.
And for what reason were girl assistants (altar servers, or whatever they are called)excluded? I believe that there are not only vocations to the priesthood, but also to the consecrated life in women’s communities. Far better to be inclusive than to be exclusive.
To have young men serve at the altar as servers is to encourage young men to serve at the altar as priests.
Likewise, to have some young women as altar servers, perhaps some will be called to serve as sisters or even to promote and encourage young women to approach the altar for the Mysterium Fidei. The Church needs priests and sisters and committed lay women as well. I just don’t think it’s right to exclude the young women. N.B. I am not talking about “priestesses”. Whoever is organizing these Rosaries needs to open it up.
This Benediction was offered in the Extraordinary Form, the rubrics for which emphatically restrict the privilege to serve to men. If you would like to organize a similar service, and include altar girls, by all means – feel free to do so! Put your energies to good use.

fwiw, I saw a decent amount of young women there and most of them looked like they were praying to God (not itchin’ to rush up to the altar). In fact, I believe there was even a young nun-to-be in attendance.
Young women don’t need to be altar servers in order to develop a vocation to the nuns. There are several new orders of nuns who are wearing the traditional habit and I would bet that most, few if any of the novices had a desire to be altar servers.
