another update from the 40 days mailing list.
Hello pro-lifers. There’s a little more than a week to go before the Fall 2012 40 Days for Life campaign begins. Here are some important points to be aware of:
- If you belong to any kind of group (prayer group, bible study, parish council, youth group, etc.) suggest that your group participate in the 40 DFL vigil for at least one hour – preferably an hour each week. Having groups of people present on the sidewalk is a great way to make a strong impression.
- The on-line schedule is open ready to accept sign-ups for particular time slots. Just go to 40daysforlife.com/rochester and click on the “Vigil Schedule” tab at the top of the page. Please note that if you registered in any of the previous campaigns you are still registered and do not need to re-register. Simply input your email address and password in the first two fields.
- The Kick-off Rally is Tuesday September 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Focus Pregnancy Help Center, 86 University Ave. We’re encouraging everyone to bring one non-perishable food item to help stock the shelves of the Focus Pregnancy Center as they strive to serve the poor of the community. Desserts and refreshments will be served. The agenda for the rally is as follows:
- 6:30 – 6:45………Meet and greet
- 6:45 – 7:00………Opening remarks and video
- 7:00 – 7:20………Fr. Joseph Cantanise Pastor of St. Leo’s parish speaks
- 7:20 – 7:40………Rev James Harden, President/CEO of CompassCare speaks
- 7:40 – 8:00………Rev William Everett speaks
- 8:00 – 8:15………Mark Walker sings
- 8:15 – 8:30………Candlelight vigil on the sidewalk
