A brief reminder that this Sunday, the 25th, there will be Solemn Vespers in the Extraordinary Form offered at St. John Fisher College at 5:00PM. You can see previous events such as this here and here. The service will be held in the Coleman Chapel, attached to Murphy Hall. The entire service will be sung, alternating between Gregorian Chant and Renaissance polyphony.
The Rochester Vespers Choir will be singing for the college’s 9:00 PM Mass, as well.

Who is that drone voice when the schola is singing? He should hike himself up an octave and stay with the group. 😉
Choir, Choir, Choir. You crack me up.
Besides the choir – is the 9PM anything special or will it be typical DOR mass?
9pm Mass will feature a Gregorian Chant ordinary, chanted readings, and Byrd’s Ave Verum at communion. In short, yes – ut will be very special, and not a typical DoR Mass.
They had to pick the first televised Steelers game for this!?!?? Who is on the planning committee?
I don’t know, but what I do know is that Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will certainly understand that you would rather watch a ball being hurled through some sort of apparatus, rather than commemorate His suffering and dying for your sake.
Ben – I think that’s why God let us invent TIVO for exactly these situations.
he won’t notice – he’ll be watching the game, too.
touche, but that will make it a VERY late night.
I’m sure that thought of a “very late night” might have crossed Our Lord’s mind during the Last Supper and the Agony in the Garden. Thankfully we know the winning side on that one. 😉 You can still make the Latin Mass and watch the Steelers, right?
