Otto von Habsburg, the last Crown Prince of Austria (heir to the throne after the Emperor), died ealier this month. He was a tireless defender of Catholicism and the Church, and was a lion in European politics. These videos are from his Requiem Mass offered by Cardinal Schönborn, and . . . well, just watch. It’s amazing, and words cannot convey the magnitude and majesty of this Requiem.

Here is his full baptismal name: Franz Joseph Otto Robert Maria Anton Karl Max Heinrich Sixtus Xavier Felix Renatus Ludwig Gaetan Pius Ignatius Hapsburg. I guess you can never have too many saints to protect you in life.
Excellent, Gen!
We also sang “Holy God, We Praise Thy Name” at Holy Cross this weekend but those Austrians certainly did a better job.
An era has now completely closed with the passing of the Crown Prince.
Thanks for posting the Requiem Mass for Otto von Habsburg. I was edified while experiencing all the parts. God Bless Otto Forever!
