The Real Deal

June 5th, 2011, Promulgated by Dr. K

Here are a few photographs from the Buffalo News of yesterday’s priestly ordination of Church of the Nativity parishioner, Deacon Dan Serbicki, for the Diocese of Buffalo. Congratulations, Dan. You are a priest forever!

Fr. Serbicki will offer Mass at Nativity on Pentecost Sunday (June 12th) at 10 AM.

There is also another Nativity parishioner preparing for the Catholic priesthood. Jason Hage is presently in second theology for the Diocese of Syracuse. Please keep both of these men in your prayers.

Fr. Enyan-Boadu has had to endure many trials in the Diocese of Rochester, including false accusations brought against him by a parish employee and the present uncertainty about his next assignment (one rumor has him serving as a sacramental minister under Nancy DeRycke), but he has a long-lasting legacy in these two young men. God bless you, Father!

Paul Virgilio has became a Deacon since Fr. Peter has been at Nativity.

I forgot to mention there are two women who have become nuns since Fr Peter has been at Nativity too.

  3. Ordained on the same day Bishop Kmiec turned 75 and had to submit his resignation to the Holy Father. We’ll see how long it takes for the Holy Father to name a replacement.

    Congratulations to Fr. Dan!

God bless Rev. Fr. Dan! It is Buffalo’s gain and Rochester’s loss. One can only wonder how many other priests in our Diocese can say they’ve had 2 priests, one deacon, & 2 nuns accept vocations during their pastorate. Yet, this priest (who made praying for vocations a priority) does not have an assignment and Nativity is getting a female administrator and a weekend priest. Something is wrong here.

Does anyone have any idea how long the Ordination of Deacon Scott Caton will be on Saturday? It starts at 10:30. We will have small children in my party…

  6. God Bless Fr. Dan,our new priest even if he is going to Buffalo. May God guide him in all he says and does and may direct his path throughout his ministry.
