Defending Truth and Tradition in the Roman Catholic Church

Judgment Night

June 24th, 2011, Promulgated by Dr. K

Homosexual marriage will go up for vote tonight.

From News 10 NBC:

“The New York state Assembly has passed an amended version of a bill to legalize gay marriage. The state Senate is expected to vote on the bill sometime Friday night.

Senate Republicans agreed to send the bill to the floor for a vote after approving an amendment that includes stronger religious protections. The Assembly, which approved the original bill earlier this week, passed the amendment Friday by a vote of 82-47.

According to the Senate’s official Twitter feed, the amended bill will come up for a vote Friday night, but it will be the last order of business.”

It doesn’t sound good for those of us hoping to see true marriage prevail. The lack of religious protection was the only thing holding back a few Republican senators from supporting the bill. Now it appears that protections (whatever these might be) have been added.

Start praying that marriage will remain between a man and a woman in New York!

Pray harder…one of the only two undecided Republican Senators just announced he will vote “yes.” May the Holy Spirit change the heart and mind of one or two senators to “no.” May God’s will be done.

It looks like another Republican has caved. May God have mercy on New York.

It is just so disgusting. I’m going to drop my newspaper subscriptions first; I am not going to look at gay couples scattered among true marriages. Nor would I attend any such farces; family or not. I think we need to start to say “Sacrament of Marriage” instead of just “marriage,” to differentiate “real marriage” from travesty. Like “We are a Sacrament of Marriage couple.” or “my sacramental husband” or “sacramental wife.” I am very concerned (and need to read) the religious exemptions. Apparently a preacher can preach on Romans 1, but can I witness to Romans 1 without running afoul of this law? And to what degree? Where does blogging fit in this? Sadly, this is a very graphic sign of the persecution to come against those who stand for the Lord’s Word.

I’ll say again, there needs to be a massive effort of SSM opponents in SSM-legalizing states to MOVE THEIR WEDDINGS to states where SSM remains illegal. As for clergy, they should stop applying for or executing state marriage certificates. The fitness of the institution to be participated in is contingent on its restriction to opposite-sex relationships only.

The West is missionary territory, and the State is rapidly declining. We are witnessing what it was like in the death throws of the great empires and states of the ancient and medieval world.

So, yes, once homosexual-marriages-as-friendships goes through, marriage becomes meaningless and is no longer recognized by the state. We are back to the wilderness – post-civilization wilderness.

  6. Ben Anderson says:

Republicans/Democrats! Is there really a difference between the two?

generally, yes. The vast majority of Democrats (29/30) voted for the bill and the vast majority of Republicans voted against the bill (28/32). Yes, there is a difference.

  7. Bruce says:

    Viva Christo Rey!

Truth will always win out in the end, and this “victory” regarding homosexual friendships means nothing.

If it means anything, it is that we must strengthen our efforts to reevangelize the West.
