Archbishop Dolan and Bishop Hubbard @ Press Conference

March 8th, 2011, Promulgated by b a

I’m not sure what Archbishop Dolan’s position on Gov. Cuomo receiving communion is (please share in the comments if you have any info). In a recent press conference he doesn’t state his position when asked, saying it’s “not the time and place”. Meanwhile Bishop Hubbard pounces on the opportunity to give his opinion, while not addressing the actual issues that Peters raised. Nevertheless, pray for all bishops – this clip gives us a glimpse into the intense pressure of the life of a bishop.

The relevant clip from this Q&A session starts at the 3:00 mark and runs to about 5:40.

    Very interesting.

It’s clear that the reporter is trying to nudge Archbishop Dolan to disagree with Bishop Hubbard and undermine his authority as ordinary of the Diocese of Albany, but Dolan doesn’t take the bait.

This video also demonstrates how bad our Church needs the Bishop Clarks and Hubbards of the world to retire. Hubbard’s refusal to act reveals his consent.

Page A23 of today’s NY Times has two articles…headlined “Biahop says Communion for Cuomo is Private Issue” and “Cuomo, inm Push to Legalize Same-Sex Marriage,Will Hold Strategy Session With Activists”.The former article never addresses the issue of public scandal while the second seems to prove it.
