  1. A new Independent Church. February 20th is their grand opening.

A wonder how many wandering Christians are going to join this church?

  2. Monk says:

Actually, there is a similarity to this approach by some of our Catholic priests and pastoral administrators that think they have to turn our Holy Mass into an entertainment show to increase attendance. How sad!

  3. Gretchen says:

Betting on Heaven? Win a trip to the Casino in Niagara Falls…”

  4. The ad reminded me of a situation one of my sons relayed to me. A friend of this son who is from Sri Lanka, has both Hindu and Moslem roots. A roommate that they both have in common invited him to a Christian church. His friend agreed to go to more church services and the roommate in common continued to take him to his church. After attending the Christian church service for a short time, the friend became “disenfranchised” to put it mildly, when he found out the roommate was being paid by the church to bring people to the service. He would not attend after he found this out. Apparently he found the roommate’s intentions to be insincere. Additionally, the friend spread the information to others the roommate would try to approach to take them to his church, including my son.
I think most people would be upset to be invited by a so-called friend, roommate, or neighbor to church out of concern for their individual welfare to learn that person was being paid to bring you to church like a Headhunter.
