1460 AM’s Catholic Business Professionals Breakfast

January 20th, 2011, Promulgated by b a

I had the pleasure of attending the Catholic Business Professionals Breakfast this morning sponsored by the Station of the Cross. The event started with coffee and networking. It was great to meet more than a few Catholics who are fervent in their faith. Gene Michael (the Godfather of Rochester Catholic blogs) gave an entertaining and enriching talk about what it means to be a Catholic in the working world. He talked about the importance of praying the rosary and mentioned the impact that Brother Lawrence’s “The Practice of the Presence of God” has had on him. From his company’s website:

Top Hat Chimney Service, Inc. is owned and operated by Gene Michael. Gene is a retired fire department Battalion Chief who did 30 years of service with the City of Rochester. Upon retirement, Gene decided to pursue a career that would match his knowledge base from 30 years of firefighting. He found that chimney sweeping and its related activities would be a perfect fit for his background.

Dave VanVickle representing the station also put in a few good words about what it means to be a Catholic in the workplace. We should be hard-working, people of integrity, and always put in our best effort. He also spoke about the excitement of acquiring the station in Boston. Please continue to support the station with your financial support and your prayers. Also, be sure to thank Bishop Clark for supporting Catholic Radio in our diocese. I’m not sure when the next CBPB will be, but I’ll be sure to post about it when I find out. If you were on the fence this time around, consider coming to the next one.
