Young Franciscans Discuss the Extraordinary Form

December 26th, 2010, Promulgated by Gen

This is definitely worth a watch.

“The people don’t understand what’s going on. They don’t understand Latin.

But they do understand that what they have just seen

is the closest thing to Heaven . . .”

Very interesting. It looks like they approve of the changes that are coming: Vatican issues final text of the Roman Missal, Third Edition, for the Dioceses of the United States of America

Exactly, Diane. Evidence of the “hermeneutic of continuity” at work!

yes the exact principle I was looking for hermeneutics of continuity….Pope Benedict says it best: “The centering of all history in Christ is both the liturgical transmission of that history and the expression of a new experience of time, in which past, present, and future make contact, because they have been inserted into the presence of the risen Lord.” The Spirit of the Liturgy by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger (p 117)

I just love this: “…the expression of a new experience of time, in which past, present, and future make contact…” how profound/prophetic
