This is a friendly reminder that there will be a very special vocations rosary tonight at St. Thomas the Apostle church. The intent of the rosary is to pray for vocations to the priesthood, especially locally. This event will be solemn, and include Benediction, chant, and much prayer. The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring this rosary.
St. Thomas the Apostle church is located at 4536 St. Paul Blvd in Irondequoit, and is currently slated to “close” in a couple weeks. The service begins at 7 PM., unless Fr. Tanck does the unthinkable. Fr. Denis Bonsignore will preside. Various other solid Rochester priests should also be in attendance. We hope you all can make it.

what a beautiful service it was!
Pretty amazing. What a good and holy man Father Bonsignore is. Very good sermon, beautiful music. So glad I was able to make it. God bless the parishioners of STA.
It really was beautiful. Father’s sermon was just fantastic but then he always delivers a great sermon. The music was gorgeous -the whole service was very prayerful and powerful. The evening was filled with a sense of the sacred.
What a crowd! Fantastic turnout!
That was one benediction service I will remember for a long time. Thanks to Father Bonsignore for simply doing what the Church asks be done and doing it reverently and thanks to the schola for that wonderful Gregorian chant.
Agreed, Mike: “Thanks to Father Bonsignore for simply doing what the Church asks be done and doing it reverently”. Dittos for the Men’s Choir. No nonscense. No sillines. No little cute gimmicks to show how clever they could be.
It was also good to hear a sermon where the faithful are actually reminded that there is a place we can go other than heaven. Love love love was implied – totally. Embodied in all that was said and done last evening. What a beatiful Benediction indeed.
A special thanks to Denise Flanigen for burning the candle at both ends & running tirelessly for the past 2 weeks or so in the planning of this event: Well done Denise!
