Bishop Sheen’s reaction to the man who would “improve” the Church by mixing in Eastern mysticism reminds me of Jesus’ reaction to the money changers in the temple:
And making a whip of cords, he drove them all, with the sheep and oxen, out of the temple; and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. (John 2:15)
The progressives almost certainly would have told Sheen he was intolerant.
