Catholic bloggers aim to purge dissent
By RACHEL ZOLL – The Associated Press – Monday, October 25, 2010; 12:05 AM
— Pressure is on to change the Roman Catholic Church in America, but it’s not coming from the usual liberal suspects. A new breed of theological conservatives has taken to blogs and YouTube to say the church isn’t Catholic enough.
Enraged by dissent that they believe has gone unchecked for decades, and unafraid to say so in the starkest language, these activists are naming names and unsettling the church.
“There’s a general sense among many faithful Catholics that no matter how much they write their bishops, no matter how much they go to the pastors, all of these unfaithful things keep getting taught,” Voris said. “I think enough Catholics are saying, `That’s it. I’ve had it.'”

I often wonder how the MSM would have reported the events of the new testament and the early Church had it been around then. I think we’re getting a glimpse of it. I wonder if John Allen (NCR – not really MSM) would have called St. Paul a “Taliban Catholic”
That pretty much sums it up. I’ve personally written many letters (probably not nearly as many as others), and I just get the feeling that I’m being ignored. I get the sense that the hierarchy thinks, “you care too much. come one, this is just a fun game that we play called Church, but it’s not real. stop taking it so seriously.”
more on Paul being a “Taliban Catholic”… Not only was this guy uncharitable enough to rebuke the first pope (of all people) publicly, but then he went on and wrote about it in a letter which became part of the new testament! Talk about airing your dirty laundry in public. What was that guy thinking?!

I wish they would have quoted other than Michael Voris. Any fair-minded person who sees one of his more outrageous episodes, e.g. only Catholics should be allowed to vote, could easily form the same “Taliban Catholic” opinion as John Allen.
at least they quoted Thomas Peters.
“Taliban Catholic” = A Catholic who accepts all the Church teaches without dilution, nuance or ambiguity, and who refuses to be quiet when others who should be doing the same do not.
