Defending Truth and Tradition in the Roman Catholic Church

On Being Radical

October 1st, 2010, Promulgated by benanderson

Mike posted a link and a transcription to a podcast a little while back.  I listened to the podcast and was really impressed.  Deacon Tim Sullivan is the Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Wayne County and is also the co-author – along with Cyndi Kane –  of a weekly (or thereabouts) podcast.

I found this audio snippet quite interesting as they talked briefly about what it means to be radical for your faith.

Right on. This is almost a universal problem.

Exactly. The segment on the decline of parishes that forsake the Truth for the sake of economic expedience touches on something I’ve been reflecting on recently, especially in light of the Holy Father’s success in Britain: that those who lose their fidelity to Christ for the sake of temporal success lose even that success, while those parishes which endure in orthodoxy thrive.
