Came across the following in an AP article entitled “Survey: Americans don’t know much about religion“ –
“Forty-five percent of Roman Catholics who participated in the study didn’t know that, according to church teaching, the bread and wine used in Holy Communion is not just a symbol, but becomes the body and blood of Christ.
…
Not surprisingly, those who said they attended worship at least once a week and considered religion important in their lives often performed better on the overall survey.”

“Not surprisingly, those who said they attended worship at least once a week and considered religion important in their lives often performed better on the overall survey.”
What was not surprising was that atheist/agnostic group performed better than all other groups.
How many of those were “Catholic, but…”
With all the money that Bishop Clark receives from his CMA ($5.5 million)maybe he could spare a few dimes to start getting some apologists to start holding seminars in our diocese. Where does all that money go anyway? Hmmmmm! Your excellency? Don’t lie now.

I got one wrong. It was a name of a person totally alien to me. I don’t even remember it. Driving the bus for so long you even pick up tidbits of helpful general information. I read a lot and try to remember it for future use. It paid off! I don’t feel bad about “one.” the whole thing prooves that the population is not very knowledgable on the subject.
