A person “in the know” regarding IPPG (Irondequoit Pastoral Planning Group) news has informed us that Bishop Clark has selected Blessed Kateri Tekakithwa to be the name for the new merged parish.
Certainly a good choice considering that the other options included “Good Samaritan” and “Incarnate Word”.

I just knew I shouldn’t have bet on Spiritus Sancti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s $5 bucks down the drain . 🙂
Bishop Clark finally made a good decision. WOW!!! BIg deal. The hurt still remains for the parishoners of St. Thomas and St. Salome’s. I do agree that Blessed Kateri (soon to be St. Kateri)is a good choice for this cluster.
Don’t bother practicing how to pronounce the name. The “parish” will still be called Christ the King, St. Cecilia, and St. Margaret Mary.
Good name choice but a sad -and infuriating- situation
