Defending Truth and Tradition in the Roman Catholic Church

A Quintessential Father Z. Rant

July 27th, 2010, Promulgated by Nerina

I know that Father John Zuhlsdorf  isn’t everyone’s “cup of tea,” but he is at his finest today as he “fisks” a column from the National Catholic Reporter (or in Fr. Z. world – fishwrap).  Note that one of his tags on this piece is called “Throwing a Nutty.”  I think the CF staff needs to consider adding this to our list of tags.  Enjoy the master at work.

Isn’t “throwing a nutty” a briticism for getting angry? I’m sure Ink would approve. I know I do.

  2. Mike says:

Okay, now I’ve actually read the piece.

If there were a Pulitzer Prize for fisking, this would be a strong contender.

  3. Gen says:

Yes, Nerina – that’s a good idea. I’ll set up a tag for whenever we have one of our “you’re wrong, and you’re wrong because” pieces. It may cut back on the sanctimonious comments of “you aren’t being charitable.”

I’ll have that up by the end of the day.

I think a copy of this should go to Sr. Joan, Nancy and Denise Mack. And don’t forget to send the bishop a copy!

  5. LarryD says:

Gen – you could name the tag ‘If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong’.
