STA Appeal to Bishop Clark

June 23rd, 2010, Promulgated by Dr. K

St. Thomas the Apostle church has made a formal appeal to Bishop Matthew Clark requesting that he rescind his decree which would dissolve the five Irondequoit Pastoral Planning Group (IPPG) parishes and close St. Thomas and St. Salome churches (and properties).

Note: The D&C will be publishing a story on St. Thomas the Apostle, and the effort of parishioners to save their parish in this Sunday’s paper. There will be a D&C photographer at tomorrow’s rosary for STA. The rosary will be prayed at 6 PM (Thursday, June 24th) at St. Thomas the Apostle church. Hopefully parishioners, friends and well-wishers can attend. Sorry for the short notice on this.

Update 6/24/10 (4:40 PM)- Fr. Tanck has denied the D&C permission to photograph tonight’s rosary. How heartless, Father…

  1. You all will surely be in my prayers.
You have a long hard road ahead of you, but there will be many prayers that God’s will be done, and His Church will be strong through this.

The Bishop called (D&C) Mark Hare?
