God bless Fr. Robert Meng. For many years, Fr. Meng faithfully traveled from across town to hear confessions, every weekend, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church on Saturday afternoons AND evenings! He was a gentle and encouraging confessor, as well as a conscientious priest, in confirming the Church’s teachings on difficult issues. May the Lord reward him with the blessings of Eternal Life! -Jim

Well said, Jim. We have missed him at STA of late and I’m sad for my own sake that he’s gone. I hope he is given a dignified and beautiful funeral.

May God bless you Fr. Meng. You were a wonderful and faithful priest. I miss having you as a confessor. You definitely told it like it was.

  4. BT says:

Fr. Meng was pastor of Holy Rosary when I was in high school and my parents were buried from Holy Rosary many years later. He was always pastoral, very interested in the welfare of children, and, to his credit, fought hard to rebuild the school after the fire although there was opposition from the diocese. I saw him recently when I visited another priest at the motherhouse and was amazed to discover that he was still driving. God was truly with him.
