Archbishop Timothy Dolan of New York may be coming to the Diocese of Rochester in a couple of weeks. It is rumored that he will be stopping by Sacred Heart Cathedral for Mass on June 22nd at 10:30 AM, and that he will deliver a homily to close out the Year of the Priest. This day is the feast day of St. John Fisher, the patron saint of the Diocese of Rochester.
More will be posted as it becomes available.

that would be too cool for school. There's been a bunch of dates and events thrown at recently. I am tagging these so I can get them into the calendar when I get a chance.
I thought he was coming for the local jubilarians in the priesthood for the DoR.
Choir, that too.

Not only is he coming on the 22nd, all of the priests have been told they must concelebrate the Mass and attend a talk after the Mass. They have also been ordered to wear full black clerical suits. A priest friend of mine told me this.
Do you mean they can't wear their cassocks and birettas?
I think we should petition that the Mass be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. After all, it is a larger church than the Cathedral and would give the most laity a chance to attend. 🙂
This is not a rumor, it's on the DOR facebook. Very exciting good news. I will definitely be there participating minus the clapping during song.
If this short video don't get you pumped up to see him I don't know what else will:

Note the church in the background too!
Maybe he's coming to announce the name of the new coadjutor.
