From the St. John the Evangelist in Greece pastoral council minutes:
“Fr. Forni made the Council aware that the Diocese did not accept the offer to go forward with the sale of the school and convent. Fr. Forni explained that he thought that the price was fair but the Diocese would still like us to list it with a realtor”
Let’s see… this parish has found a buyer for the school and convent, and is more than willing to make the deal, but the diocese has said no because the sum of money is not high enough. Can it be said that the DoR is not obsessed with money?

Please remember that if St. John's does sell the former school and convent, all of the money goes to St. John's. None of it will go to the DOR. Not everything is negative. Just as some priests should not renovate because they're not interior designers, some priests do not have a good business sense and do not know the real value of property. Many years back, Fr. Collins at St. Thomas More sold the convent, the original mansion on the site, for practically nothing. Ten years later, the buyers sold it for more than one million dollars. The diocesan financial advisors do help parishes not to lose money which could help them in the future.
Good points.

Follow the money trail and make sure that it doesn't lead to Buffalo Road.
If Pastors could talk, you would find it very hard to believe how the "bishop" has financially fleeced so many parishes.
The parishioners never hear the truth. They are only badgered each Sunday to give more money.
Our bishop is an expert at gathering cash.
