Defending Truth and Tradition in the Roman Catholic Church

For Mary Rita and Sister Emily

April 11th, 2010, Promulgated by Choir

I read your comments about the Tridentine Mass today and thought you might enjoy hearing the Agnus Dei that we did. It was borrowed from the motet by Tomas Luis Victoria named “O Magnum Mysterium”. We took it down a whole step. The motet is most often sung at Christmas. Victoria is often referred to as the Spanish Palestrina. He used a lot of dissonance in his choral writing. Mysterious and melodic.

  1. Scott/Mary says:

Thank you choir for this gift. Listening to this beautiful piece brought the happy memory of yesterday back:)
It will also share with those who sadly missed it.

  2. Sister Emily says:

CHOIR, I have played this over and over all day at my office.

    thanks

  3. Sista…you have to join the choir, that's all there is to it. Singing in church for God and singing this genre of music just takes me into another world as probably you know and Ben too. The whole Mass in on youtube.
