Last Second Deal on Obamacare

March 21st, 2010, Promulgated by Dr. K

As predicted earlier today, the House Democrats concerned about the abortion language in the bill have sold their souls, and have accepted a “promise” from President Obama that he will sign an executive order preventing tax dollars from going toward abortions.

The Obamacare bill, which represents a massive overhaul of the country’s health care system, will likely be approved today as a result of this “promise.”

The liberals can begin their rejoicing now, because the good times will come crashing down this November. The tax hikes on the wealthy will go into effect immediately, while the purported major benefits will come years down the road.

Brace yourselves for media spin and Obama glorification if this passes.

Update: Obamacare has passed by a vote of 219-212.

"…and the rich will be sent away empty."

In a sense, yes. They'll take a big tax hit to support this very expensive program. Is that what we have come to in this country? Whenever we want something we just slap another tax on the wealthy? I don't think it's fair, or right for us to continue to steal from them to support ourselves.

    I wholeheartedly agree!

I recently remembered what Sen. Jim DeMint said (the "Waterloo" comment). I added a corollary. If the bill is voted down, it will be Obama's Waterloo…and if it passes, it will be his Borodino.

and besides fairness and justice – this type of policy hurts everyone. Simple economics has demonstrated that the trickle down effect of taxing the rich will destroy the economy. Keep rewarding laziness and provide no incentives to work – that's what this country was built on.

And if a small employer now has to pay for his employees health care by law, he will simple fire a few to save costs. Thank you Obama "lack of care".

Anyone else take a look at the article in the D&C; today? It says that the 32 million uninsured will not be covered until… 2019!?! We had to rush this bill through so that these people could be insured in almost a decade from now? A number of them may be dead by then anyway.
