Republican senatorial candidate, Scott Brown, has defeated the Democratic challenger, Martha Coakley, in a special election. This particular election was held to fill the seat that was formerly held by the now deceased Sen. Ted Kennedy. This is the first time a Republican has been elected to the senate for Massachusetts in 30 years.
The election of Brown breaks the Democrat’s super-majority in the Senate. The Republicans now have enough votes to filibuster Obama’s legislation, in particular the health care bill. Let us hope the Republicans will use this to ensure that tax-payer funded abortion coverage will not be included in the bill, if the bill in its current form should go forward at all.

True, though I might note that he himself is at least somewhat pro-abort
Yeah, Lots of luck with that one or better yet..shall we pray.
Obama sucks, just like Irondequoit Catholic.
Our Ladyof Guadalupe, Thank you and ptayfor us.
He may not be the most pro-life advocate, but considering that he's better than nothing, we should thank God that we got him when we did.
Isn't it ironic that the man who occupies the seat is going to be the one who destroys the legislation proposed by its former owner? God has a sense of humor and this is most certainly the proof.
This is the proof? I always thought it was the VW Bus.
Yes, Brown is far from perfect on the pro-life issue, but if his vote can prevent the passage of the currently proposed "reform," then I'll take it.
