Reminder: Today is a Holy Day of Obligation

December 8th, 2009, Promulgated by Dr. K

Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation. Most liturgies have already taken place today, though there are a few late ones in the area for those who work the 9-5 job.

Holy Spirit in northern Penfield has a 7:30 PM Mass. Holy Spirit is located at 1355 Hatch Road. It’s also worth mentioning that Holy Spirit will have a Traditional Latin Mass on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadelupe this Saturday morning at 8 AM.

St. Salome will have a 7 PM Mass tonight. They are located at 4282 Culver Rd. in northern Irondequoit.

On a “that’s ridiculous” note, there will be eight holy day Masses held in the Christ the King/St. Thomas/St. Salome cluster, and FIVE of the eight will be at Christ the King. Another middle finger to the people of St. Thomas and St. Salome.

It occurred to me today that December is all about conception and birth. The Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Holy Family, the Holy Innocents and of course the Nativity of the Lord. I don't think it is any coincidence that it is in December that the devils in DC are trying to force abortion into every home.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Unborn, pray for us! Our Lady, Patroness of the Americas, pray for us! Saint Joseph, Protector of the Holy Family, pray for us! Holy Innocents who died at the hands of the devil because Christ was born on earth, pray for our children as we approach His glorious return.
