The Mass of Gaudete Sunday will be celebrated this coming Sunday, the 13th at St. Stanislaus Church at 1:30 p.m. The church is at the corner of Hudson Avenue and Norton Street.
The processional hymn, “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” will be sung in English (imagine that!) as the altar boys and priest approaches the high altar. The ordinary and proper parts of the Mass will be sung in Gregorian Chant. The motets will be “Ad Te Levavi” and “Dixit Maria”. The recessional hymn will be “O Come Divine Messiah”.
All God’s children are welcome to experience an exceptionally beautiful Mass in an exceptionally beautiful church. Confessions will be heard after Mass.

In Latin:
- Dixit Maria ad angelum:
- Ecce ancilla Domini,
- fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum.
In English:
- Mary said to the Angel:
- Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord,
- let it be done to me, according to your word.
Most of us would recognize Hassler for composing the hymn tune “O Sacred Head Surrounded”.
