Fr. John Jenkins has been elected by the Board of Trustees to a second five-year term as president of the University of Notre Dame. This means that Fr. Jenkins will continue his reign until at least the spring of 2015. Many thought that Fr. Jenkins’ time at Notre Dame would soon expire, due primarily to his bestowing of an honorary doctorate upon a pro-abortion President of the United States, but also because of several less-than-Catholic events that have occurred at his institution. Not so.
Here is what the Trustees said about Fr. Jenkins: “[Jenkins] advanced the institutional mission of the University to attain the highest standards of excellence in teaching, scholarship and research in a community of learning where truth is informed by belief and where, specifically, the Catholic faith and intellectual tradition are celebrated and lived.?
Let’s face it, the University of Notre Dame is in a downward spiral closing in on a fiery crash. This school could lose its standing as a Catholic university relatively soon.
Notre Dame is also home to world famous dissident (yes, he dissents frequently, though without provoking action) theologian, the Rev. Richard McBrien.

Loathsome. Absolutely loathsome.
Compound that with "contemptible" and you will realize the sentiments held by this humble blogger.
