H.E. Bishop Martino of Scranton Resigns

August 31st, 2009, Promulgated by Dr. K

The CNA reports that the Vatican has accepted Bishop Joseph Martino’s resignation due to reason of poor health. The Church has lost a true defender of her doctrines. He will be greatly missed. The Auxiliary Bishop John Dougherty has also resigned. He is 77 years old, well past the retirement age of 75.

Please pray for this great Bishop that he may regain his good health and continue to serve the Lord wherever he may be needed. +Martino is only 63 years old, and could have at least another 12 years of service to go if he can improve his health.

All the Obamacaths must be having a field day over this man's suffering.

A soldier of Christ has fallen on the battlefield. May his replacement be worthy to take up his sword and shield and lead the fight for orthodoxy.
