Defending Truth and Tradition in the Roman Catholic Church

“One Nation Under God”

July 4th, 2009, Promulgated by Dr. K

As we celebrate the anniversary of the independence of our nation, let us take a moment think about how wonderful it is that we can worship the Lord God in our own religion freely, without government interference or restriction. Back in the early days of Christianity, the young Church often received harsh oppression from rulers who were less than friendly to this new religion (i.e- the slaughters by Emperor Nero in the 60s A.D.). These early followers of Christ had to worship the Lord in secret, otherwise they could face harsh penalties including death. Some in our world still do not have the freedom to worship the Lord openly as Roman Catholics like we have here in the United States. Please offer a prayer for these struggling people, that they may soon be able to praise God, in public, without fear of imprisonment or death.

God bless you all, and have a happy and safe fourth. Keep the alcoholic beverages to a minimum 🙂

No promises on the alcohol 😉

I offer my prayers for the underground Catholics out there.

Thank you. I had a wonderful 4th of July celebration with family and friends (in fact, I just got back from it). My prayers for those who do not have the freedom to worship the Lord as we do in America. So many people are deprived of the Holy Mass and the Sacraments because of oppressive Communist regimes. It is truly a shame.
