Cleansing Fire

Defending Truth and Tradition in the Roman Catholic Church

Novena of Fortitude – Day 4

July 28th, 2009, Promulgated by Gen

Today’s theme is “exile,” as in, “exiled for orthodoxy.” I am fairly certain that if you are reading this, you have either had a parish ripped out from under you or are in the midst of watching that happen.

In today’s video, I quote Lamentations, chapter one. I strongly urge you to read the entirety of that chapter, if not the entire Book of Lamentations. Very moving and very telling, all of it.

I just read through Lamentations. It perfectly describes the situation in the Diocese of Rochester!

The Cleansing Fire Blog is a beacon of hope for parishioners in the Diocese of Rochester and many other parishioners in the United States, who are have the same type of problems with their Bishop. The word is spreading fast.

    Knowledge is power.

The Bishops who are causing so much destruction to our precious Church, don't have the strength to stand up to the power of the Internet.

God Bless the wonderful parishioners who put so much work into these great Blogs.

Please send the email addresses of the Rochester Blogs to all Catholics on your email list.

The laydorcatholic site supports women priests and lay preaching (basically the Fr. McBrien line). I'd be careful about pumping up that one.

Cleansing Fire is my first read every morning.

    Oh My,

Monroe County Legislator Dan Quatro used our Lord's name in vain, against a fellow county legislator during a recent public meeting and then called him a "retard".

People are calling it an insult to people with disabilities because it is equally as offensive as a slur.

Note to Dan Quatro: Don't make the Catholics in our community mad. They come out to vote and could call for you to be voted out of office.

Just ask Judge Robert Lunn, who was voted out of office for ruling against the Sacred Heart Preservation Committee that tried to stop Bishop Clark from stripping out Sacred Heart Cathedral.

I heard the same story tonight on NBC.

I think we all could use some more fortitude right about now.
