Besides activities within the Church which don’t seem faithful to magisterial teaching (like the Catholic Campaign for Human Development) who else are you boycotting?
I’ve stopped going to Starbucks because of their gay rights fervor. And I’ve been boycotting Susan Komen for several years because of the Planned Parenthood connection. Now I’ll have to boycott them as well for their sheer stupidity and lack of conscience, deciding matters of conscience by counting tweets.
I don’t buy Girl Scout cookies either because of the PP connection. Crate & Barrel is now on the list; it has same sex attraction floor displays, and American Airlines advertises explicity for “his and his beach towels.” Recently a Kindle ad also pushed same sex attraction in a beach ad.
So who are you boycotting, and why? Hope some readers will share their thoughts. I may add onto this post as others come to mind. And I’ll post some boycott links here too:

I find it difficult going up to receive the Eucharist from a priest who does not affirm the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus even after being informed. I would rather go for Mass elsewhere unless I had no choice and am unable to fulfill my Sunday obligation.
This is not exactly boycotting. Since Alphonsus Ligouri says that it is a sin against charity and religion to receive the Eucharist from a priest in public mortal sin. It is a sin against charity since the priest is on the way to Hell and I would be actinv as if all is well. It is a sin of Faith. (Theologica Morale 47,3)
St.Alphonsus Ligouri is the Father of Moral theology. There is a pontifical university names after him in Rome, the Alphonsianum.
Don’t go to Home Depot due to their support and funding homosexual groups.
I don’t shop at Target. They will not support the troops but are very friendly to the gay and lesbian movement.
After Nicki Minaj’s “performance” at the Grammy’s last night, I’ve got half a mind to boycott CBS – assuming that’s something they had to approve beforehand.
There’s probably not anything on there I should be watching anyway, right?
Ludwig – I got rid of my television about 20 years ago and I don’t miss it a bit. What is broadcast now as compared to 20 years ago is much more vulgar and sexual oriented. If you have children who grow up with no TV or maybe vary limited TV, you’ll find that you’ll have a better family life. My .02 cents.
Yeah, we’ll be bringing our first child home from the hospital in April, Lord willing.
We’ve already planned to move the TV to the basement. We don’t even want her knowing there’s one in the house. Partially for the filth that comes through, and partially because of the brain-sucking, zombie-creating effect.
If she ever does watch TV, we’re thinking I Love Lucy reruns. Maybe the Cosby show. Maybe.
I am boycotting Catholic Charities for Father Synder’s worship of Obama. No more donations to them or CRS. I am boycotting Home Depot, Pepsi, and Starbucks for their love of sodomy and mortal sin. I am boycotting anything to do with the CCHD. I am boycotting Viacom.
Ludwig: I agree 100 thousand percent. A child is to precious to leave them watching TV.
Bruce: thanks for the updated on Pepsi and Viacom. I wasn’t aware of them.
BTW – If you all are interested we are having a High Mass in the Traditional Form this Sunday at 1:30 at St. Stan’s. Ya’ll are welcomed.
I don’t listen to WHAM radio any more because of its lineup of stupid talk show hosts: Beck, Lonsberry, Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity… Everything is so one-sided on that station.
I am a heavy contributor to CRS (so, I am nullifying Bruce’s boycott) – and I watch EWTN, by the way.
I could say the same about CNN, MSNBC, ABC, Gannett newspapers, and on and on.
I boycott the bishop’s Catholic Ministries Appeal for reasons outlined before on this site.
Ben and Jerry’s because of their Hubby Hubby ice cream. And m&m’s for their stupid, sexualized, cartoon candy ad during the Super Bowl. They played it at 7:00 when every kid in America was watching. I’m still furious about it.
I have to ask, what’s wrong with CRS? We give a lot of money to that charity.
I thought I heard that Home Depot was backing off its support for the homosexual agenda. I’ll try to find some solid evidence of that.
Scotty,
WHAM has altered its line up a bit. I believe Beck is on late at night now and Savage isn’t on at all (that man is crazy – “Savage” fits). Lonsberry is now on for four hours and I have to say, I like his show because it focuses on local stories and he’s willing to hold anyone’s feet to the fire. Clearly he is a Republican, but he’ll call them out when necessary. Not a perfect host, but still worth a listen. I can’t stand Hannity. Not only does he represent Catholics poorly, he truly is a shill for the Republicans. Rush is entertaining and he stands up for the Church more than some bishops do! Again, not a perfect host, but tolerable.
Nerina – Here’s something about “Homo Depot” not backing off. My homosexual friends who work there call it “Homo Depot”. http://action.afa.net/Detail.aspx?id=2147516303
I boycott the Diocese of Rochester because it throws a lot of our money down the drain. I send donations directly to charities such as the Franciscans of the Renewal who run soup kitchens and visit the poor.
Have you ever checked what the CEO’S of charities make. Check out “Catholic Extension” where the director-bishop makes only about 20 g’s a year. Check out the executive director who makes 150 g’s a year.
I did not know that about Home Depot Choir. Lowes’ it is!
Hi, Everyone!! I avoid using Frito-Lay Chips, of various kinds, because they fall under the Pepsico umbrella as well.
Glad you wised me up, Mary. Turns out Ben and Jerry’s is undaunted by boycott. They just introduced a second “gay marriage” flavor: “Apple-y ever after.” (Yeah, right). Ice cream season coming. It’s one to remember.
Something to consider on the general subject of boycotting: (I didn’t develop the data myself, but I trust the person who sent it to me….just sharing for the boycott question.)

In case you aren’t already boycotting Starbucks for their gay pride position, this might help a little:
“Starbucks Corp. said it will stop using a red dye in its drinks that is derived from crushed bugs, AP reported. The Seattle-based chain said it will reformulate its drinks and swap out cochineal extract, and instead use lycopene, a tomato-based extract.”
On another note, and related to other companies (but apparently not Starbucks), email rumors have not gone away on protein additives from abortion “waste.” God help us. And labeling isn’t required, which is one reason it’s hard to track down the rumor by company.
By now we know that snopes isn’t the answer, right?
Morally Tainted: Products Made Possible by the Killing of Innocent Human Life
Share by Rebecca Taylor
Sen. Ralph Shortey introduced a bill to the Oklahoma Legislature to ban any product for human “consumption” that contains aborted human fetal tissue or where the research or development of any of the ingredients required the use of aborted fetal tissue.
When Shortey suggested that his bill was not simply about aborted fetuses in the food supply, but about companies using cells and tissues from aborted human beings to test or develop various chemicals, drugs or therapies, one angry commenter … retorted, “What companies? Name them. If you can’t, then this is the rantings of a paranoid delusional.”

I guess life is getting much easier or much more complicated, depending on your frame of reference.
AFA American Family Association suggests a Sears boycott or at least complaint. They write (excerpt):
“Breaking its promise, Sears is again offering hard-core pornographic products on its website. Not just a few X-rated products, but scores of them! Last year, Sears promised to stop selling X-rated products. In our subsequent monitoring of sears.com, AFA found that Sears has resumed selling sexually explicit products featuring human bondage and sado-masochism.”
“Technology allows Sears to remove and stop selling these products within minutes, if they want too. AFA has tried several times to reach out to Sears quietly and professionally. Basically, their single response was, “These porn products meet our terms and conditions” for online products.”
Take Action!
Unless Sears hears from you, they will continue to sell hardcore pornography. If you can only do one thing, please: Make a personal phone call to Sears, so your concerns are clearly understood. Call Sears’ corporate headquarters directly and ask to leave a message with Chairman Edward Lampert’s office. The number is 847-286-2500.” AFA
Can we say boycotting JC Penney’s? Lifesite News reports:
“After commemorating Mother’s Day with an ad featuring two lesbians, JCPenney is releasing a Father’s Day ad depicting two gay men and their children.”
General Mills!

On the ballot in November, Minnesota residents will be voting on a constitutional amendment which defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman. The amendment is designed to protect traditional marriage.
In response to the amendment drive, General Mills CEO Ken Powell recently spoke at a gay pride event where he told the crowd that the cereal giant opposes the amendment and efforts to protect traditional marriage. The General Mills corporate headquarters is located in Minneapolis.

I just want to share with you what it is possible to do. I went on line to the stock market records to confirm the data from afa, and it is true! You may remember that JC Penney did advertising for Mothers’ Day this year with 2 women suffering from same-sex attraction disorder (aka “lesbian mothers.” ) And for Fathers’ Day they had two men suffering from same-sex attraction disorder (aka “gay fathers.”)
The American Family Association has been active in getting out the message. Notice what happened. It was like a referendum on so-called “homosexual marriage” and JC Penney was the loser. Their stock has dropped from $41 per share in February this year, just before Ellen DeGeneres became their spokesperson, to $35 right after Mothers’ Day, to $25 right after Fathers’ Day, to the current closing of about $20 per share. It shows what people who care about an issue can do by simply NOT supporting the company in question. JC Penney now is reported to be getting a “junk” rating.
We must, in the words of Churchill, never, never, never give up. We know for Whom we are working. The afa has had its work blessed; let’s pray for the same in fighting the HHS mandate.

Amazon’s Founder [and current president] Pledges $2.5 Million in Support of Same-Sex Marriage
By MICHAEL D. SHEAR
Jeff Bezos, the billionaire founder of Amazon.com, and his wife, MacKenzie, have agreed to donate $2.5 million to help pass a same-sex marriage referendum in Washington State, instantly becoming among the largest financial backers of gay marriage rights in the country.
With the gift, the couple have doubled the money available to the proponents of Referendum 74, which would legalize same-sex marriage in the state by affirming a law that passed the Legislature this year. Courts or lawmakers have declared gay marriage legal in six other states, but backers of such measures have never succeeded at the ballot box.
Proponents of the effort in Washington State called it a game-changing gift that gives them a fighting chance in November.
Click here http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/07/27/amazons-founder-pledges-2-5-million-in-support-of-same-sex-marriage/ for the rest of the story — I’m off to do business with Barnes & Noble.
On the other hand, the president of Amway has given a half-million dollars for defense of marriage. As you might expect, he is being vilified by gay marriage proponents.
I realize this is an old post, but I’m using if for a kind of catalog for myself and some friends who at least know where to find it. They just do a search on boycott and here it is….
Today I am thinking of adding Canada to the list — yes Canada! I’m just so fed up with their anti-Catholic pro-gay-anything and everything attitude, including reported pressure on CATHOLIC SCHOOLS to teach the government’s version of sex education. Today’s news has the conviction of a man for handing out anti-gay literature in 2001! It went all the way to their Supreme Court.
There seems to be little concern about morality these days; but lots about money. So one important witness to the truth needs to be financially reinforced. If all Catholics in the US stopped crossing the Canadian border, the message would be heard. For our area of the country it would mean not taking visitors to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls or to their casinos. It would mean not using lower airline rates out of Toronto. It would mean not going up to Bills or Blue Jays or Hockey games in Canada, or any other sports events or plays at Niagara on the Lake. It would mean no business meetings, no shopping, no anything. It would mean identifying Canadian products too, and not buying them here. Yes, it would keep money in the US too, but that wouldn’t be the purpose. Rather it would be to express solidarity with our Catholic Canadian cousins, before we get to a point that we can’t even recognize the Faith north of the border. And it would make a strong point for the importance of these matters in our own country as well, before they get to where it’s heading — as bad as Canada.
On Church Militant TV tonight the point is made that the Canadian High Court indicated that there is no difference between hating the sin and hating the sinner. That is in direct contradiction to the Church’s position to love the sinner but hate the sin. I think it is B.C. time — Boycott Canada. WOW — it might even be called USCCB — US Catholics’ Canadian Boycott. 🙂
Starbucks STILL! Sell the stock; don’t buy the coffee!
The CEO just added insult to injury by telling shareholders if they don’t like Starbucks pro-gay posture to just sell their shares. Christians should stop going to Starbucks all together. Starbucks might just out that is quite a few people.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/mar/28/christian-group-urges-stock-dump-over-starbucks-ga/
More good news on JC Penney…. Ellen Degeneres failed; the pro-gay ads for Mothers’ Day with 2 mothers and Father’s Day with 2 fathers failed, all attempts to prove the problems were something other than a public negative reaction to pro-gay culture failed, and now the CEO has been fired after sales dropped yet another 25%, not to mention the stock stuck in the mud. Old CEO is back; but can JCP recover? Will he reinstate American values? Will the public trust JCP again? We have to wait and see, but it looks like JCP’s opposing the fundamental value of true marriage has just about destroyed an iconic company. Lesson well-learned. Now, will the rest of the blind see and the deaf hear?

I bought a great push mower and string trimmer from my local lawn equipment store and not Home Depot.
Now if I can just wean myself off Target. 🙂
Here is an update on products containing or using fetal cells:
