Oscar Romero Church’s Grand Opening

March 2nd, 2011, Promulgated by Dr. K

Chava Redonnent, one of the Spiritus Christi fake priestesses, will be holding a grand opening service for the Oscar Romero inclusive catholic church at the St. Joseph House of Hospitality.

It is long overdue that the Diocese of Rochester end its affiliation with this organization, whether this affiliation is official or not. Several diocesan priests continue to offer “ecumenical services” at the St. Joseph House.

Have you sent this information to the Vatican’s representative in Washington, and also to the appropriate officials in Rome? And what about Archbishop Dolan — isn’t he the metropolitan for the diocese of Rochester?

It is dangerous when people who are entrusted with the stewardship of a lay Catholic initiative are willfully ignorant, of its roots and its founders.Catholic Worker founders
Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin were orthodox Catholics adhering to the Catholic Church and its Truth . There is no evidence that this ” Oscar Romero style” parody would have been applauded or encouraged by either of them . Therefore, it is dishonest for the current crop of people staffing the house of hospitality to enable this burlesque and still call it a Catholic worker.Be who you say you are. To paraphrase Peter Maurin : Everybody’s house is nobody’s house.

  3. avatar Jean Jesserer Smith says:

What happens during this “celebration” anyway ? Is someone assassinated, in the Oscar Romero style ? The whole thing is stupid and frivolous . Ultimately this nonsense demeans the reputation of a good bishop who died because he was a faithful Catholic. The irony is too much.

It is a terrible mistake for traditional/conservative/faithful Catholics to abandon CatholicWorker and ST. Joseph’s House of Hospitality to Spiritus Christi and Chava R. It is a sign of Great Cowardice. Catholics CANNOT abandon the cause of the poor and seek shelter among the wolves of the Tea-party and neoConservatives of the Republican Party (who HATE the church)and pretend to remain faithful to the teachings of Christ. If you disagree with Spiritus Christi and Chava then the BEST thing for you to do is to go to Cath Worker and ST. Joe’s house and support the poor in the name of Faithful Catholicism!! To abandon Catholic Worker is as immoral as abandoning your child to narcissistic drug pusher.

If you abandon St. Joseph House it does not mean that you need to abandon that particular type of ministry. Surely the ministry could continue under the supervision of the DoR instead of the supervision of a Spiritus priestess.

I’m pretty conservative, and a Republican, AND a Catholic. I’m not sure where Ted gets the idea that “neoconservative” Republicans hate the Church.

    Re: Dr. K
You suggest that the ministry “could” continue under the supervision of the DoR instead of the supervision of a Spiritus Priestess. Lets get real here, for a moment. CW takes help from anyone of good will who offers help. In my understanding, CW is Independent from the DoR. They take help from any in good faith who want to, including Orthodox Jews. Even Chava. Even you!!. Waiting for the Bishop to do something is not only extreme folly, but the road to perdition. The fact is, if YOU and your friends don’t PERSONALLY show up and help CW, then only those that do, will. get it? If you as faithful catholics, and in the name of faithful catholicism help CW, then the effects of Chava and SC will be greatly diminished. I you don’t, then evil triumphs unopposed – this is why the sin of omission is so powerful,

    Re: Cindy
It is not my place to tell you what to do or what to think. You wouldn’t believe me anyways. But the nonconservative movement was founded and continues to be lead by former Trotskyite Communists (and their sons) who in the 70’s decided to become conservative after the Yom Kippur war. They are all violently hostile to Catholicism but will tolerate catholic politicians as long as catholics support lowering marginal tax rates on the wealthy. I urge you to give up FOX news for lent (for you’re strong enough).

Enjoy the gift of Lent – Ted
