Bishop Fever

April 19th, 2010, Promulgated by Dr. K

Whispers in the Loggia, a usually reliable Catholic rumor blog, has written today that as many as two new episcopal appointments could be named for the States tomorrow. First, Archbishop John Favalora of the Archdiocese of Miami is expected to retire 8 months prior to reaching his 75th birthday. Whispers believes he will be replaced by Bishop Thomas Wenksi of Orlando. Next, the Diocese of Springfield is believed to be receiving a bishop finally. The diocese has been without a bishop since June of 2009. Following this appointment, there will be 3 remaining vacant dioceses to be appointed chief shepherds.
